Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except is a 1985 action-horror film directed by Josh Becker and starring Brian Schulz, Sam Raimi, and Cheryl Hausen. The movie was originally titled Stryker's War before being changed to the current title. The film was produced by Becker's friend Sam Raimi and Robert G. Tapert.
The film starts with Sergeant Jack Stryker, a Marine, leading his squad through a village in Vietnam. During the mission, they stumble upon a group of American soldiers who have been taken prisoner by the Viet Cong. Stryker and his men stage a daring rescue, but during the escape, Stryker is shot in the leg and must be airlifted back to the United States for medical attention.
Once back in the States, Stryker discovers that his ex-girlfriend, Nancy, has been kidnapped by a group of Manson-like cultists led by an insane religious fanatic named Master Stryker (Sam Raimi). Stryker decides to gather a group of his old Marine buddies and use their combat skills to take down the cult and rescue Nancy.
The film is a mix of action and horror, with plenty of violence and gore. The climactic battle between Stryker's team and the cultists is both intense and bloody, with lots of explosions and gunplay. The film also features a memorable fight scene in which Stryker takes on a group of cultists armed only with a chainsaw.
Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except was not a box office success upon release, but has since gained a cult following due to its over-the-top action and horror sequences, as well as its cast of future filmmakers (including Raimi, who would later go on to direct the Spider-Man trilogy).
