The film follows the story of Oliver, a brilliant 12-year-old tech genius, who creates a device that can read and translate dog thoughts into human language. However, during a science fair, Oliver's experiment accidentally collides with his dog's collar, causing a telepathic connection between them.
Oliver and his dog, Henry, soon realize their newfound abilities and begin to use them to navigate their lives. Whether it's helping Oliver's parents work through their relationship issues or solving problems at school by seeing them from a canine's perspective, the duo uses their unique dynamic to overcome obstacles.
However, things get complicated when a rival tech company steals Oliver's invention, and he has to enlist the help of his friends to get it back. Along the way, Oliver and Henry's bond only grows stronger as they rely on each other to face challenges and learn valuable life lessons.
Think Like a Dog stars Josh Duhamel as Oliver's father, Megan Fox as a scientist at the tech company, and newcomer Gabriel Bateman as Oliver. The film is directed by Gil Junger and was released in 2020.
