The Yellow Rolls-Royce is a 1964 British film directed by Anthony Asquith and starring Rex Harrison, Shirley MacLaine, and Jeanne Moreau. The film follows the story of a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, which passes through the hands of three different owners, each with their own unique story.

The film starts in the 1920s with Lord Charles (Rex Harrison) purchasing the car for his wife as an anniversary present. Lady Eloise (Jeanne Moreau) loves the car but is unhappy with her marriage and begins an affair with a German aristocrat (George C. Scott). When Lord Charles finds out about the affair, he sells the car.

The second owner of the car is Paolo Maltese (Alain Delon), a charismatic Italian mafioso who purchases the car during a trip to Italy and leaves it with his girlfriend Mae (Shirley MacLaine) while he returns to Chicago. Mae falls in love with a young mechanic (Art Carney) and decides to leave Paolo.

The final owner of the car is Gerda Millet (Ingrid Bergman), an American widow who fights against the invading Nazis with the Yugoslav Partisans during World War II. She takes the car to transport a wounded Partisan leader (Omar Sharif).

Throughout the film, the yellow Rolls-Royce serves as a symbol of luxury, status, and love. Each owner has a different relationship with the car, reflecting their own personal struggles and desires.

The Yellow Rolls-Royce was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design and was praised for its all-star cast and impressive cinematography.
