The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles is a French drama film directed by Cécile Telerman. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by Katherine Pancol. The plot revolves around two sisters, Joséphine (Julie Depardieu) and Iris (Emmanuelle Béart), who have always been as different as night and day.

Joséphine is a struggling historian and a divorced mother of two daughters who is trying to make ends meet. Iris is the glamorous older sister who has always been the center of attention, with her beauty, elegance, and wealthy lifestyle. However, Iris is also broke and currently in a financial crisis.

To make matters worse, Iris has committed to writing a novel about the 12th century, but she has no time to write it due to her busy social life. So she persuades her sister, Joséphine, to write it for her, using Iris' name as the author and splitting the profits. Joséphine reluctantly agrees, and the book becomes a runaway success, with Iris enjoying the fame and the money.

However, as their lives become more complicated, the sisters develop a strained relationship with each other. Joséphine starts to feel trapped in the charade, while Iris becomes more demanding and manipulative. Meanwhile, other characters enter the picture, including Iris's ex-husband (Patrick Bruel) and Joséphine's new love interest (Thibault de Montalembert).

The Yellow Eyes of Crocodiles explores themes of sibling rivalry, deception, and the struggle for identity and authenticity in a materialistic world. It is also a commentary on contemporary French society and the pressures of modern life. Overall, the film is a poignant and engaging drama about family dynamics and the complexities of human relationships.
