The Wrong Trousers is a stop-motion animated film created by Aardman Animations in 1993. The film features the beloved characters Wallace and Gromit, and is the second film of the Wallace and Gromit series.
The story starts with Wallace and Gromit struggling to pay the bills for their house. To make ends meet, they decide to take in a lodger. The lodger turns out to be a small penguin who quickly takes over Wallace's room, leaving Wallace to sleep in the closet.
Gromit begins to suspect the penguin's true intentions when he overhears the penguin talking on the phone about a robbery. He realizes that the penguin is planning to steal a diamond from the local museum, and is using Wallace's mechanical remote-controlled trousers to do so.
Gromit's attempts to stop the penguin are unsuccessful, as he is framed for the robbery and sent to prison. However, he manages to escape and catches up with the penguin at the train station, just as he is about to make his getaway with the diamond.
A thrilling chase ensues between Gromit, the penguin, and Wallace, who is still being controlled by the trousers. In the end, Gromit manages to apprehend the penguin and recover the diamond. Wallace is exonerated and the film ends with him and Gromit happily back in their home, enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
The Wrong Trousers won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1994 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated films of all time. Its humor, artistry, and inventive storytelling have captivated audiences of all ages for nearly 30 years.
