The Wind and the Lion is a 1975 adventure drama film directed by John Milius. It is loosely based on the real-life events surrounding the kidnapping of American heiress Alice Roosevelt Longworth in Morocco in 1904 by Berber tribesmen led by the charismatic rebel leader, Mulai Ahmed el Raisuli.
