The Wild Thornberrys Movie is an animated adventure film that follows the story of a young girl named Eliza Thornberry (voiced by Lacey Chabert) who has a unique gift of being able to communicate with animals. Eliza and her adopted brother Darwin (a chimpanzee) travel the world with their family, who are famous for their nature documentary show.
One day, Eliza discovers that a poacher is hunting elephants near their campsite in Africa. While trying to save the elephants, Debbie (Eliza's teenage sister) gets kidnapped by the poacher. Eliza must use her power to communicate with various animals in order to rescue her sister and stop the poacher.
However, during the rescue mission, Eliza's powers are accidentally revealed to a local tribe. The tribal elders believe it is an abomination to speak with animals and decree that Eliza must be sent away to a boarding school. Eliza's parents, Nigel (her father) and Marianne (her mother), must fight to prove that Eliza's ability is a gift rather than a curse so that she can stay with her family and continue her travels.
The Wild Thornberrys Movie is a heartwarming and exciting tale of family, loyalty, and using one's talents to make a difference in the world. The film features an all-star voice cast, including Tim Curry, Jodi Carlisle, and Flea, and was directed by Cathy Malkasian and Jeff McGrath.
