The Wild Life is a coming-of-age film that follows the adventures of four teenagers living in the suburbs of California during the 1980s. Bill, a recent high school graduate, has just moved into his own apartment and is excited about his newfound freedom. Jim, his best friend, is a rebellious troublemaker who is constantly getting into trouble with the law. Tom is the wacky, outspoken member of the group, while Anita is the object of their teenage affections.

As the summer progresses, the four friends embark on a series of wild and crazy adventures, from getting drunk and stoned to breaking into swimming pools and chasing girls. They also come into contact with various adult characters, including a creepy drug dealer, a sleazy nightclub owner, and Anita's older, handsome boyfriend David.

Throughout the film, the characters navigate the ups and downs of teenage life, from first love and heartbreak to peer pressure and identity crisis. As they approach the end of their summer, they all come to a realization that their time together is ending, and they must face the future on their own.

The Wild Life features a cast of young stars, including Chris Penn, Eric Stoltz, and Lea Thompson, and is known for its iconic soundtrack featuring songs from Van Halen, The Cars, and Oingo Boingo. The film received mixed reviews upon its release in 1984, but has since become a cult classic among fans of 80s teen films.
