The White Reindeer is a 1952 Finnish horror film directed by Erik Blomberg. It tells the story of Pirita, a young woman who marries Aslak, a Sami reindeer herder. Aslak is often away on long trips with his herd, leaving Pirita feeling lonely and neglected.

Desperate to bring her husband back home, Pirita seeks help from a local shaman. The shaman performs a magical ritual that transforms Pirita into a shapeshifting, vampiric creature known as a "white reindeer."

Pirita soon discovers that in her new form, she has the ability to seduce and kill men. As she hunts for victims, she comes to realize the true cost of her quest for companionship.

The White Reindeer is a beautifully shot, atmospheric film that draws heavily on Finnish folk traditions. Blomberg's direction is both haunting and dreamlike, and the film's stark black-and-white visuals contribute to a sense of eerie, otherworldly mysticism.

The White Reindeer won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film in 1957 and remains a cult classic of Scandinavian horror cinema.
