In The Wedding Wish, protagonist Abby (played by Erica Durance) is a hopeless romantic who has always dreamed of getting married on a specific date – June 27th – because it's the anniversary of her grandparents' wedding. Despite still being single, Abby decides to book her dream wedding at a picturesque venue for that date, confident that she'll find the perfect fiancé in time.
As she embarks on a dating spree to find her Mr. Right, Abby's best friend and coworker, Ben (played by Andrew W. Walker), begins to harbor secret feelings for her. However, Abby sees him only as a friend and doesn't consider him a potential romantic partner.
Over the course of the movie, Abby goes on several dates with various men, but none of them seem to click. Meanwhile, as she and Ben continue to spend time together planning the wedding, Abby slowly begins to realize that the person she's been looking for might have been right in front of her all along.
Things come to a head on the day of the wedding, when Abby is left at the altar by her chosen fiancé. Devastated, she turns to Ben for comfort and support – and realizes that he's the one she truly loves. As they embrace, the movie ends with the promise of a future together.
