The Watch is a 2012 science fiction comedy film directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Jared Stern, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. It stars Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade as four suburban men who form a neighborhood watch group as an excuse to get away from their families and the monotony of their daily lives.

While on patrol, the group discovers a mysterious green glowing orb and later stumble upon the body of a man who appears to have been killed by some kind of alien creature. Convinced that their town has been infiltrated by extraterrestrial beings, they decide to take matters into their own hands to protect their community.

As they begin to investigate, they gather evidence of the aliens' existence and recruit a reluctant police officer (played by Will Forte) to join their cause. Together, they face off against the alien invaders in a series of action-packed and often hilarious confrontations.

Along the way, the group also struggles with personal issues, including Stiller's character's infertility and Vaughan's character's struggles with his teenage daughter. The film ultimately culminates in a tense showdown between the neighborhood watch and the aliens as they attempt to save their town and the world from total extermination.

Overall, The Watch is a fun and entertaining take on the classic alien invasion genre, with plenty of laughs and action to keep audiences engaged from start to finish.
