The War with Grandpa is a 2020 comedy film based on the book by Robert Kimmel Smith. The story follows a sixth-grader named Peter, played by Oakes Fegley, who loves his bedroom and his privacy. But when his grandfather, played by Robert De Niro, moves into his house and takes over his room, Peter is forced to move into the attic. Upset by the situation, Peter decides to declare war on his grandfather, with a series of pranks and schemes to get his room back.
As the war between Peter and his grandfather escalates, it puts a strain on their relationship and causes chaos in the household. Along the way, Peter enlists the help of his friends and even his little sister to join in on the fun. However, as they continue to prank each other, things start to get out of hand and they realize that maybe they need to call a truce.
