The Vikings is a 1958 epic adventure film directed by Richard Fleischer and starring Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, and Janet Leigh. The film is set in medieval Scandinavia and tells the story of two half-brothers, Einar and Eric, who are in a constant struggle for power and the affection of the beautiful Princess Morgana.

The story begins when Einar, the eldest son of Viking king Ragnar, returns home from a raiding expedition and discovers that his father has been murdered and his throne has been taken by his half-brother Eric. Einar challenges Eric to a duel for the throne but is defeated and thrown into the sea. He is rescued by a Welsh slave, named Egbert, and they set out to seek revenge against Eric.

Meanwhile, Eric sets his sights on Princess Morgana, who has been taken captive during a raid on a castle in Northumbria. He takes her to his castle and tries to win her affection, but she is more interested in Einar, whom she met while he was still the king's heir.

When Einar and Egbert undertake a daring raid to rescue Morgana, they are successful but are pursued by Eric and his men. The film climaxes in an epic battle between the two Viking factions, with Einar and Eric facing off for the final time.

The Vikings is known for its impressive action sequences, including a death-defying leap by Kirk Douglas off a Viking ship. The film also features a memorable score by composer Mario Nascimbene and stunning cinematography by Jack Cardiff.
