The art student, named Sophie, is studying abroad in Venice and has just moved in with her new roommate, Mia. One day, Mia mysteriously disappears and Sophie starts to uncover clues that point to her being kidnapped. Determined to find her friend, Sophie teams up with her Aunt Marie, who is a retired detective with a love for solving puzzles.
Together, Sophie and Marie delve deeper into the case, following clues and getting themselves into dangerous situations as they search for Mia. They discover that Mia was involved in a local art heist and that her kidnapping may be connected to the stolen artwork.
