Nick Cage plays a fictionalized version of himself in the action-comedy film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The movie follows Cage as he struggles with his failed career and financial problems. In order to make ends meet, he accepts an invitation to attend the birthday party of a wealthy superfan, played by Pedro Pascal.
Things begin to spiral out of control when Cage is approached by a CIA agent, played by Tiffany Haddish. The agent blackmails him into helping with a top-secret mission involving drug lords and international terrorists. In exchange, the agent promises to wipe out all of Cage’s debts and clear his name in Hollywood.
Cage soon realizes that he must use his acting skills to their fullest potential in order to complete the mission and save his loved ones from danger. He channels his most iconic characters, including Ben Gates from National Treasure and Castor Troy from Face/Off, as he fights his way through a series of spectacular action sequences.
