The Transporter is a 2002 action film directed by Corey Yuen and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. The film stars Jason Statham as Frank Martin, a skilled driver and former Special Forces officer who works as a "transporter," a mercenary driver who will do almost any job for the right price, as long as his clients don't ask questions.

Frank's latest job is to transport a package from the port of Marseille to an unknown destination, which turns out to be four bound and gagged Asian women. Frank is conflicted about the job, but before he can do anything, he is ambushed and knocked unconscious.

When he wakes up, he finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy involving a corrupt U.S. government official, a group of Chinese smugglers, and a beautiful woman named Lai (Shu Qi). Lai is one of the women he was hired to transport, and she reveals to Frank that the others were not so lucky and were killed by her captors.

Frank is determined to help Lai escape from her captors and sets out to uncover the truth behind the smuggling operation. Along the way, he battles a gang of heavily armed mercenaries and matches wits with a tough-as-nails French detective named Tarconi (François Berléand), who is determined to bring him to justice.

The Transporter is known for its fast-paced action sequences, thrilling car chases, and expertly choreographed fight scenes, as well as Statham's impressive performance as the stoic and efficient Frank Martin. The film was a box office success and spawned two sequels and a television series.
