The plot of The Three Stooges begins with Moe, Larry, and Curly growing up in an orphanage run by nuns. They are now adults, and the orphanage is in danger of closing due to lack of funds. The trio decides to raise the money themselves and set out into the world to find it.
Their first job takes them to the home of a wealthy couple, where they are hired to take care of their young son. However, they end up causing chaos in the house and are fired. While moping in the park, they see a woman being mugged and come to her aid.
As it turns out, the woman is actually an actress who is part of a murder plot cooked up by her husband and his mistress. The Three Stooges inadvertently become involved in the scheme and must use all their comedic talents to thwart the killers and save the day.
Along the way, they also find themselves caught up in a reality TV show, where they are the unwitting stars. The show's host and producer, played by Sofia Vergara, sees a financial opportunity in the trio's zany antics and pitches them to a network executive.
