The Three Faces of Eve is a 1957 film adaptation of the book of the same name, based on the real-life case of Chris Costner Sizemore, who suffered from dissociative identity disorder (previously known as multiple personality disorder).
The movie tells the story of Eve White, a timid and troubled housewife who starts experiencing blackouts and loss of time. She seeks the help of a psychiatrist, Dr. Luther, who discovers that Eve has two distinct personalities: the shy and gentle Eve White, and the bold and seductive Eve Black.
As Dr. Luther tries to understand and treat Eve's condition, he uncovers deeper traumas and conflicts in her past that have led to the development of her multiple personalities. Eve's third personality, Jane, eventually emerges as the strongest and most integrated, combining the positive qualities of both Eve White and Eve Black.
