The Thief and the Cobbler is an animated film that was originally under production for over 30 years. The film's creator, Richard Williams, began working on the project in 1964, but due to a lack of funding, the film was not completed until 1995.
The film follows Tack the Cobbler, a lowly shoemaker who dreams of creating the perfect pair of shoes for the princess. Meanwhile, the Thief plots to steal the three golden balls from the top of the tallest minaret in the golden city.
As the Thief attempts to steal the golden balls, Tack unknowingly thwarts his plans. The princess takes notice of Tack's bravery, and with the help of her father, the king, enlists Tack's help in protecting the city from the impending threat of the evil One-Eye and his army of mechanical monsters.
As Tack works to create the perfect pair of shoes that will aid in the battle against One-Eye, the Thief continues to plot his scheme to steal the golden balls. Eventually, Tack and the Thief cross paths, and Tack is able to use his ingenuity and the simple tools of his trade to thwart the Thief's plans and save the city.
