The Terrible Two follows the story of the Poe family, who move into a beautiful, old house in Greenfield, North Carolina. Albert and Rose are excited to start a new chapter in their lives and to raise their two daughters, Addi and Jade, in the serene countryside. However, soon after they move in, strange things start to happen in the house. Doors slam shut on their own, objects move inexplicably, and the family starts to hear eerie noises at night.
The Poes soon discover that their dream home has a dark past. A couple lived in the house before them, and their six children all died of mysterious causes. The townspeople believe that the parents killed their children and then committed suicide in the house. The Poes are horrified by this revelation, but they decide to stay in the house and try to make it their own.
Unfortunately, the house seems to have a life of its own, and it's not willing to let the Poes go so easily. The two sisters, Addi and Jade, start to exhibit strange behavior and become increasingly violent towards their parents. The Poes soon realize that they are no longer living with their daughters, but with something much more evil and mal-intended.
As the family becomes trapped inside the house, they have to work together to fight against the evil force that is trying to harm them. In order to survive, they must uncover the secrets of the house's past and find a way to break free from its hold.
