Prospera's magic extends to summoning a huge storm that wrecks the ship of her enemies, the King of Naples, Antonio (Prospera's brother), and a group of Neapolitan courtiers. The survivors are scattered across the island, where Prospera and her daughter Miranda (who has never seen anyone other than her mother since she was three years old) reside. As the castaways explore the island, they encounter spirits and creatures of Prospera's creation, including the mischievous Ariel and the feral Caliban, who was once Prospera's servant and betrayed her.

Prospera plans her revenge against her enemies, using illusions and manipulations to expose their guilt and teach them lessons about justice and forgiveness. Meanwhile, Miranda falls in love with Ferdinand, the son of the King of Naples, and Prospera allows the couple to get engaged.

As Prospera's plan unfolds, her power begins to dwindle, and she realizes that she must make a choice between holding onto her anger and hurt or letting go and finding peace. With the help of Ariel and Caliban, she ultimately chooses forgiveness and reconciliation, releasing her enemies from their punishment and reconciling with her brother.

The Tempest is a visually stunning and thematically rich adaptation of Shakespeare's classic play, exploring themes of power, revenge, forgiveness, and the transformative power of love. The film features an all-star cast, including Helen Mirren as Prospera, Russell Brand as Trinculo, and Alfred Molina as Stephano.
