The Swearing Jar follows the story of Carey, a young woman who believes in the concept of soulmates and is determined to find hers. She is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Elliot, but when she meets a man named James, she is struck by an intense connection that she cannot ignore.
As she begins to navigate her feelings for both men, Carey discovers that they both seem to be the perfect match for her. While she is torn between the two of them, she decides to take part in a swear jar challenge, in which she will put money in every time she swears, in the hopes of finding clarity and choosing the right man for her.
However, things become even more complicated when both men seem to be aware of the other's existence and are willing to fight for Carey's love. The situation becomes increasingly difficult for Carey as she struggles to choose between her heart and her head, with the added pressure of the swear jar challenge pushing her towards a decision.
As the story unfolds, Carey realizes that finding true love is not as simple as she once thought, and that sometimes, the heart wants what it wants, even if it means breaking a few rules along the way.
