The Substitute is a science fiction movie that revolves around a group of 6th-grade students who are introduced to a new substitute teacher, Mrs. Giest. She is different from the other teachers they have had, and soon the students begin to notice strange things happening in their classroom. They also notice that Mrs. Giest seems to be able to read their minds.
At first, the students are excited to have a new teacher who wants to train them for an international competition in Paris. However, as they continue to spend more time with her, they discover that she is not who she seems to be. Mrs. Giest is actually an alien who has come to Earth to study human children and learn about their behavior.
The students become scared of Mrs. Giest as she becomes more and more demanding and mean. They try to tell their parents about what is happening in their class, but Mrs. Giest has already convinced them that she is a great teacher. The students must come up with a plan to expose Mrs. Giest for who she really is and save themselves from her dangerous intentions.
Throughout the movie, the students must use their intelligence and teamwork to outsmart Mrs. Giest and prove to everyone that she is not what she claims to be. In the end, they are successful in their plan, and Mrs. Giest is forced to leave their school and planet forever. The students learn important lessons about trust, teamwork, and the importance of speaking up when something is not right.
