The Standard is a documentary-style film that follows a group of veterans, known as the Cadre, as they lead a rigorous 48-hour endurance event called the GORUCK Challenge. The event is open to civilians and military personnel alike, but its primary purpose is to honor and pay tribute to the Special Forces community.
Throughout the course of the challenge, the civilians and military personnel are pushed to their physical and mental limits by the Cadre, who themselves are former Special Forces operatives. The Cadre’s goal is not only to create a challenging and unforgettable experience for the participants, but also to bridge the gap between the military and civilian communities.
As the event progresses, the participants begin to bond with one another and with the Cadre. They share stories, laughs, and tears, and begin to understand and appreciate the sacrifices and experiences of those who have served in the military.
Through the eyes of the Cadre and the participants, The Standard provides a glimpse into the world of the Special Forces community and the physical and mental challenges they face. It also highlights the importance of camaraderie, teamwork, and connection between veterans and civilians.
