The Soul-Mate follows the story of Sun-ho, a dedicated and hardworking patrol officer who finds himself in a tragic accident that separates his soul from his body. As a wandering spirit, he is unable to communicate with anyone and is desperate to return to his life and his girlfriend, Hyun-jung.
While roaming the streets in search of a way to solve the case and reconnect with his physical body, Sun-ho meets a woman named Yi-yeon, who unexpectedly can see him. Yi-yeon is a woman with her own tragic past, and she has unique abilities that enable her to communicate with spirits like Sun-ho. She agrees to help Sun-ho solve the case of his accident and bring his soul back to his body.
As they work together, Sun-ho and Yi-yeon develop a strong bond, and Sun-ho begins to have feelings for her. However, he must choose to either return to his life and girlfriend or stay with Yi-yeon, who has become his soul-mate.
