At first, Dave is hesitant to accept his newfound powers and responsibilities, but he eventually agrees to help Balthazar when he realizes that Maxim Horvath, another former apprentice of Merlin, has escaped from his magical prison and is plotting to release Morgana.
Together, Balthazar and Dave must stop Horvath and his accomplice, a powerful sorceress named Veronica, from unleashing Morgana and destroying the world. Along the way, Dave also learns to embrace his inner sorcerer and becomes the hero he was destined to be.
