Horror  United Kingdom

The Sorcerers is a 1967 cult horror film directed by Michael Reeves starring Boris Karloff, Catherine Lacey and Ian Ogilvy. The movie is about an aging couple, Professor Montserrat and his wife Estelle, who invent a machine capable of transferring their consciousness into the body of other people. The couple meets a young, rebellious man named Mike Roscoe, who becomes their first test subject.

Initially, the experiment is a success. Montserrat and Estelle take turns controlling Mike's body, enjoying his youth and freedom. However, Estelle becomes addicted to the sensation of controlling another person and starts using Mike for her own pleasures without her husband's knowledge.

As Estelle's obsession grows, she begins to use the machine more frequently, causing Mike's body to deteriorate rapidly. With his health deteriorating, Mike turns to drugs and crime, which leads to his eventual capture and imprisonment.

Montserrat discovers Estelle's actions and destroys the machine, but it's too late to save Mike. In the end, the couple is caught, and Estelle is sent to a mental institution.

The Sorcerers is a chilling and thought-provoking movie about the dangers of power and the consequences of our actions. Boris Karloff's performance as Professor Montserrat is regarded as one of his best, and Michael Reeves' direction is considered groundbreaking for its time. The Sorcerers is a must-see for fans of horror movies and psychological thrillers.
