The Silent Mountain is a 2014 war drama directed by Ernst Gossner. The film follows the story of Andreas Gruber, a young Austrian soldier fighting on the Italian front during World War I. When Andreas is wounded in battle, he is sent to recover in a nearby hospital where he meets Francesca, a young Italian nurse. Despite the tensions between their countries, the two fall in love.

But when a massive explosion planned by the Austrians threatens to rock the mountain and wipe out the Italian army and civilians living nearby, Andreas sets out on a mission to rescue Francesca before it's too late. Along the way, he faces harsh weather conditions, dangerous terrain, and enemy soldiers.

As he makes his way through the mountains, Andreas encounters other soldiers and civilians who have been affected by the war, each with their own stories of survival and loss. Ultimately, Andreas and Francesca make a daring escape, racing against time to get to safety before the explosion engulfs them.

The Silent Mountain is based on true events and is a poignant portrayal of the human cost of war and the sacrifices made by soldiers and civilians alike.
