The Set Up is a 2019 Nigerian romantic thriller film directed by Niyi Akinmolayan. The movie follows the story of Chike (Adesua Etomi-Wellington), a young woman who is desperately in need of money to pay for her sick mother's treatment. She is approached by a socialite named Ade (Jim Iyke) who offers to hire her to help him win the heart of a wealthy heiress named The Lady (Dakore Egbuson-Akande).

Chike initially agrees to the job as she sees it as an easy way to make quick money. However, she soon realizes that Ade's romantic interest in The Lady is not genuine, but rather a part of a bigger plan to steal her fortune. Chike is torn between loyalty to Ade and her growing affection for The Lady, whom she befriends as she helps her plan her upcoming wedding.

As Chike digs deeper, she discovers that Ade and The Lady's families have a long-standing history of bad blood, which Ade is attempting to exploit for his own gain. As the wedding approaches, Chike finds herself in a dangerous situation as the truth begins to unravel and she must decide where her allegiances lie.

The Set Up is a thrilling and suspenseful film that explores themes of greed, loyalty, and love. The performances of the lead actors are commendable and the film's cinematography beautifully captures the vibrant colors and textures of Lagos, Nigeria.
