The Sect, also known as The Devil's Daughter, is a 1991 Italian horror film directed by Michele Soavi and produced by Dario Argento. The film stars Kelly Curtis (Jamie Lee Curtis' sister) as Miriam, the schoolteacher who becomes pregnant with the son of Satan.

The plot of the film revolves around a mysterious sect that worships an ancient deity called "Mandrake". Miriam unwittingly becomes involved with the sect after meeting a handsome stranger named Moebius, who is revealed to be one of their members. Moebius becomes obsessed with Miriam and begins to manipulate her into joining the sect.

Things take a dark turn when Miriam begins to experience strange and terrifying visions, and is haunted by a malevolent presence that seems to be connected to her unborn child. As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that the sect has a sinister agenda and that Miriam's life is in grave danger.

The film is notable for its stylish cinematography and surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. Michele Soavi, who had previously worked as an assistant director on films by Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava, brings a distinct visual flair to the film, using vivid colors and elaborate camera movements to create a sense of disorientation and dread.

The Sect has become something of a cult classic among horror fans, thanks to its inventive storyline, striking visuals, and a memorable performance by Kelly Curtis. It also features a haunting score by composer Pino Donaggio, who has worked on several classic horror films throughout his career.
