Arrietty is a tiny 14-year-old girl who lives in a hidden world beneath the floorboards of a sprawling mansion with her parents, Pod and Homily. The Clock family, as they are known, are Borrowers; they survive by "borrowing" things from the humans who live in the house. They are very cautious and try to avoid being seen by humans at all costs.
However, when a young human boy named Shawn comes to stay in the house, Arrietty is discovered. At first, she and Shawn are afraid of each other, but they soon become friends. Shawn is fascinated by the Clocks and comes to help them with their borrowing, but their peaceful coexistence is threatened when the housekeeper, Haru, discovers the existence of the Borrowers and tries to capture them.
The Clock family must work together to survive and find a new home while keeping their existence a secret. Meanwhile, Arrietty and Shawn's friendship grows stronger, but they know that they cannot be together forever.
The Secret World of Arrietty is a beautiful and heartwarming tale of friendship, family, and courage. The animation is breathtaking and the story is filled with charming and memorable characters. It is a must-see movie for fans of Studio Ghibli and anyone who loves a good adventure.
