The Second Woman follows a stage actress named Lau who is offered the lead role in a play about a woman who commits suicide for love. Lau becomes obsessed with the role and begins to lose her grip on reality, leading her to engage in a dangerous love triangle with twin sisters and a man who is stringing both of them along. As the play goes on, reality and fiction blur for Lau, and she begins to take on the traits of her character, ultimately leading her down a path of self-destruction.
