The Second Is a Christian, also known as Jesus Never Fails, is a 1985 Japanese action-comedy film directed by Takashi Miike. The film follows the story of Kyoko, a beautiful nun who is torn between her duty to the church and her feelings for two very different men.
Haruhiko, the yakuza gangster, is initially attracted to Kyoko because of her beauty. However, as he spends more time with her, he becomes genuinely interested in Christianity and decides to convert. The Tenryu Gumi also embrace their newfound faith, which leads to a conflict with their rivals, the Kuroiwa Gumi.
Meanwhile, Kumashiro, the bumbling police detective, is tasked with investigating the Tenryu Gumi and their involvement with the Kuroiwa Gumi. He also develops feelings for Kyoko, but struggles with his own personal demons.
As the tensions between the two gangs escalate, Kyoko must decide where her loyalties lie. Will she choose the love of her life or remain true to her religious vows?
