The Russian Job

Documentary  Czech Republic

The Russian Job follows Bo Inge Andersson's journey as he is recruited by the Russian government to save the floundering Lada car factory in Togliatti. Despite warnings from his colleagues about the rampant corruption and bureaucracy in Russia, Andersson decides to take on the challenge and revitalize the factory.

However, upon arrival in Togliatti, Andersson finds himself facing a daunting task. The factory is outdated, the workforce is demotivated, and the management is resistant to change. In fact, Andersson soon realizes that the government's real goal is not to save the factory, but to maintain the status quo and avoid any potential political fallout from a factory closure.

Undeterred, Andersson embarks on a mission to turn the factory around, streamline production, and increase efficiency. Along the way, he faces opposition not only from the factory management but also from corrupt officials who are determined to maintain the system of kickbacks and bribes.

Despite these challenges, Andersson persists, eventually winning over key stakeholders and implementing significant changes that lead to the factory's survival. The Russian Job is an inspiring tale of one man's determination to overcome bureaucracy and corruption and make a positive impact on the lives of ordinary workers.
