The Rush Call follows the story of Tom, a middle-aged suburban dad who has spent the better part of his life working at a corporate job to provide for his family. His life takes a turn when he is offered a promotion that would require him to move to New York City. The promotion promises a substantial raise and a chance to finally achieve the career success that Tom has always wanted.
However, the catch is that he would have to sacrifice his creative pursuits, including his passion for writing and playing in a local band. Tom is torn between his responsibilities as a provider for his family and his desire to pursue his dreams. He ultimately decides to take the promotion, thinking it will benefit his family in the long run.
Once in New York, Tom realizes that the high-pressure environment is not what he expected. The job demands long hours and little room for creativity or personal fulfillment. Tom begins to regret his decision and soon finds himself on an impromptu adventure in the city with some unexpected companions.
