Ben and Marion are aging cowboys who are struggling to make ends meet. They spend most of their time breaking wild horses and selling them to local ranchers. However, they are frequently taken advantage of by their employer, Jim, who pays them meager wages and gives them the worst horses to break.
One day, Jim offers them a nondescript horse in lieu of some of their wages. Ben, who is always looking for a way to make a quick buck, comes up with the idea of taking the horse to a rodeo and betting other cowhands that they cannot ride it. Marion is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to the plan.
They set off on a long journey to the rodeo, with the un-rideable horse in tow. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and challenges, including a beautiful young woman named Ruth (Sue Ane Langdon) who joins them on their journey.
When they finally arrive at the rodeo, Ben and Marion begin to place bets on the un-rideable horse. However, things don't go as planned when a wealthy rancher named Brown (Denver Pyle) shows up and makes a hefty bet on the horse.
Despite the odds against them, Ben and Marion refuse to give up. They continue to train the horse and make sure it is in top form for the rodeo. In the end, their determination pays off, and they successfully win the bet and make a profit.
The Rounders is a heartwarming comedy about two unlikely heroes who refuse to give up in the face of adversity. The chemistry between Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda is palpable, and their performances are nothing short of outstanding. Overall, it's a must-see film for any Western fan.
