Mike Jacobs, a casual football hooligan who lives with his parents and struggles to keep a steady job long enough to make ends meet, reunites with old friend Eddie Hill at a football match. After the match turns violent, Eddie offers Mike a chance to make some easy money by participating in credit card fraud. Mike soon discovers that the scheme involves using cloned credit cards to withdraw large sums of money from cash machines across London every night. Eager to escape from his mundane life and enjoy the spoils of his new lifestyle, Mike quickly gets drawn in.

The money and newfound allure of the gangster lifestyle soon take their toll on Mike’s personal relationships. His girlfriend, Katie, becomes increasingly disillusioned with him, while Eddie’s control over him becomes more oppressive. Meanwhile, the scheme attracts the attention of rival criminals and the police, and the body count starts to rise. As events spiral out of control, Mike begins to realize the full extent of the danger he’s gotten himself into.
