The Rewrite follows Keith Michaels (played by Hugh Grant), a once-successful Hollywood screenwriter who has hit a rough patch in his career and personal life. His ex-wife is threatening to take away custody of their son, and he can't seem to come up with any good ideas for his next project.
Desperate for a change of scenery, Keith accepts a teaching job at Binghamton University in upstate New York, where he meets Holly (played by Marisa Tomei), a single mom who is also taking his screenwriting class. Despite their initial clash of personalities, Keith and Holly begin to develop an unlikely friendship and eventually a romance.
As Keith tries to navigate his new life in academia, he finds himself drawn to his students and their unique perspectives on storytelling. He also starts to realize that there may be more to life than just chasing fame and fortune in Hollywood.
The Rewrite is a charming romantic comedy that explores themes of second chances, self-discovery, and the power of storytelling. It features a talented ensemble cast, including J.K.
