Resurgence: A Warrior's Redemption

Western  United States of America

Lord John Morgan, played by Richard Harris, had once been taken captive by the Yellow Hand tribe in the American West and after a rough adjustment, assimilated into their ways and became one of them. However, in the first film, "A Man Called Horse," he eventually returned to England but remained restless and yearning for a return to the simpler, honest life he once had.

In "The Return of a Man Called Horse," Morgan decides to return to the tribe's land in the American West, hoping to reconnect with his adoptive family and the Yellow Hand tribe's way of life. However, upon returning, he's shocked to find that the tribe has been decimated by ruthless fur traders who were backed by the government. The trader who has taken over the tribe's lands is a former adversary of Morgan's, who is determined to enrich himself at any cost.

Morgan reunites with his adopted family, led by a brave warrior named Horse (played by Native American actor Iron Eyes Cody) and they set out to fight for what is rightfully theirs. Morgan also has to win the trust and respect of Horse's daughter, who is resentful of his white-man ways and the fact that he abandoned them before.

The film is notable for its portrayal of the Sioux tribe and their customs, and some of the rituals and ceremonies depicted were based on actual Sioux culture. The film also has some violent scenes, including a sequence where Morgan undergoes a painful initiation ceremony to prove his devotion to the tribe. Despite this, the film ultimately promotes respect for Native American traditions, especially in the face of exploitation by white settlers.
