The Resident is a 2011 psychological thriller movie directed by Antti Jokinen and starring Hillary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Christopher Lee. The movie revolves around Juliet (Hillary Swank), a successful doctor who has recently separated from her husband and is looking for a new start in life. She finds a perfect apartment in Brooklyn, which she rents from Max (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a charming and handsome landlord.
At first, Juliet feels secure and happy in her new home, but soon strange things start happening. She hears unusual noises at night, doors open and close on their own, and someone seems to be watching her every move. She becomes increasingly paranoid and anxious, feeling as though she is being watched and followed.
As she starts to investigate, she realizes that Max has been spying on her, and has even installed hidden cameras and a secret passage in her apartment. He is obsessed with her and has been watching her every move. Juliet confronts Max, but what follows is a gruesome and terrifying struggle for survival, as Max becomes increasingly unstable and menacing.
The Resident is a disturbing and suspenseful movie that keeps the audience on the edge of their seat from beginning to end. Hillary Swank delivers a great performance as a vulnerable and courageous woman who must confront her worst nightmares and fight for her life. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is equally convincing as the charming and dangerous landlord who becomes obsessed with his tenant. The movie is a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers.
