The Raid 2 is a 2014 Indonesian action film directed by Gareth Evans. It is a sequel to the 2011 film, The Raid. The film stars Iko Uwais, who also starred in the first film, and features new characters played by Arifin Putra, Oka Antara, Tio Pakusadewo, and Julie Estelle.
The film follows Rama as he agrees to go undercover to take down a powerful crime syndicate in Jakarta's criminal underworld. The syndicate is ruled by Bangun and his son Uco. Rama infiltrates the syndicate by getting close to Uco, who is trying to gain more power within the organization.
As Rama works his way up the ranks, he begins to uncover corruption within the police force and discovers that there may be a mole within the syndicate. Rama must navigate dangerous alliances, betrayals, and brutal violence to protect his family and complete his mission.
The Raid 2 features intense and realistic fight scenes, with the main character engaging in hand-to-hand combat and using various weapons to take down his foes. The film was critically acclaimed for its action sequences and cinematography. It was also a box office success, grossing over $6 million worldwide.
