In The Quiet Earth, a man named Zac Hobson goes to work at a top-secret laboratory in New Zealand, where he is tasked with monitoring a global energy experiment. However, the experiment goes horribly wrong and Zac wakes up to find that he is seemingly the only person left alive in the world.
As Zac begins to explore his empty surroundings, he soon discovers that not everyone has disappeared - there are a handful of other survivors, including a woman named Joanne and a man named Api, who also happened to be at the site of the experiment when it occurred.
As they try to make sense of what happened and find a way to survive in this new, empty world, Zac becomes increasingly obsessed with finding out what went wrong and figuring out how to fix it. However, his research leads him down a dark path that threatens to unravel their already precarious situation.
The Quiet Earth is a thought-provoking and eerie science fiction film that explores themes of isolation, loneliness, and the consequences of playing with forces beyond our control.
