The Quake is a 2018 Norwegian disaster film, directed by John Andreas Andersen, and is a sequel to the 2015 film The Wave. The movie stars Kristoffer Joner as geologist Kristian Eikjord, who reluctantly returns to Oslo with his estranged wife Idun (Ane Dahl Torp) and their two children. Kristian has been plagued by guilt since failing to prevent a deadly tsunami in the first movie, which killed many people, including some of his friends.

The film takes place four years after the events of The Wave. Kristian is now living in Stavanger and has left his job as a geologist to work as an oil rig diver. His wife, Idun, has taken up a job as a doctor in Oslo, and she has initiated divorce proceedings against Kristian. Their two children, teenage daughter Julia (Edith Haagenrud-Sande) and younger son Sondre (Jonas Hoff Oftebro), are both struggling with their parents' impending divorce.

Against this backdrop of family drama, a series of small earthquakes begin to rock Oslo, indicating that a massive quake is on the way. When Kristian's former colleague, Marit (Kathrine Thorborg Johansen), contacts him about the seismic activity, Kristian realizes that he must act quickly to save his family and the city from disaster.

Despite their differences, Kristian and Idun team up to evacuate their family and warn the authorities about the impending quake. They are assisted by an emergency management team, led by the competent Johannes (Stig Amdam). The quake eventually hits Oslo with devastating force, unleashing destruction and chaos that threaten to destroy the city.

The Quake is a gripping and intense disaster movie that showcases the impact of a massive earthquake on a major city. It has received positive reviews for its realistic portrayal of the aftermath of such a natural disaster, as well as for its strong performances and suspenseful pacing.
