The movie begins by introducing the character of Michal, who has been haunted by her father's heinous crimes and his death sentence. The audience also gets to see some of the Puppetman's gruesome killing sprees from the past. Michal, who has been estranged from her family, returns home after many years to attend her mother's funeral. However, soon after her arrival, people in the town start dying in bizarre ways, mirroring the murders that her father committed.
Michal's childhood friend, Detective Brad, is investigating the killings, but he is unable to find any leads. As the body count rises, Michal begins to investigate on her own, convinced that there is a supernatural force behind the murders. She starts to have vivid nightmares and experiences strange visions, which lead her to believe that there is some truth to her father's claim of being controlled by an evil presence.
As Michal delves deeper into her investigation, she becomes aware of a mysterious puppet museum that her father used to visit. She learns that the puppets in the museum were created by a master puppeteer who was rumored to have dabbled in dark forces. Michal realizes that her father was under the influence of these malevolent puppets when he committed the murders, and now the same puppets are continuing their killing spree.
Michal, Brad, and a team of paranormal experts must race against time to break the curse of The Puppetman before all their loved ones are killed. Their only hope is to destroy the puppets and put an end to the evil force that controls them.
