The movie The Prophecy is a supernatural thriller that revolves around the fight between the angels and the humans for control of Heaven. The stalemate has lasted for centuries, but a prophecy states that if a soul is collected from Earth, then that soul will break the deadlock.
Enter Gabriel, an archangel who disobeyed God and has come to Earth to find the soul that will end the war. However, Gabriel is corrupt and his true intentions are to overthrow God and become all-powerful himself. Only a former priest, Thomas Daggett, and a little girl, Mary, can stand in his way.
Thomas has had visions of the future and realizes that Mary is the key to stopping Gabriel. Mary has a special gift that allows her to see and communicate with angels, which leads her to become the target of Gabriel's wrath. Thomas must protect Mary and stop Gabriel from collecting the soul that will allow him to rule over Heaven and Earth.
The movie is full of supernatural elements, including angels, demons, prophecies, and possession. The cast includes Christopher Walken as Gabriel, Eric Stoltz as Thomas Daggett, and the young actress, Moriah Snyder, as Mary.
