The Princess and the Frog is a 2009 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. The movie is loosely based on the novel The Frog Princess by E. D. Baker.

The story follows Tiana, an ambitious and hardworking waitress in New Orleans who dreams of owning her own restaurant. When a prince named Naveen arrives in town, he is cursed by a voodoo practitioner named Dr. Facilier and transformed into a frog. Desperate to regain his human form, Naveen mistakes Tiana for a princess and asks her to kiss him, hoping that it will break the curse.

However, after Tiana kisses Naveen, she herself is transformed into a frog, and the two of them embark on a journey through the Louisiana bayou in pursuit of a way to break the curse. Along the way, they encounter a jazz-loving firefly named Ray and a trumpet-playing alligator named Louis, who join them on their quest.

As Tiana and Naveen journey deeper into the bayou, they confront various challenges, including a pack of ravenous hounds and a shadowy figure known as the Shadow Man, who is revealed to be the one behind Naveen's curse. In the end, Tiana and Naveen are able to break the curse and return to their human form, with Tiana fulfilling her dream of opening her own restaurant.

The film received critical acclaim for its unique blend of traditional 2D animation and modern CGI techniques, as well as its diverse cast of characters and themes of perseverance and self-discovery. Its soundtrack, which features songs by Randy Newman and performances by Anika Noni Rose, John Goodman, and Keith David, was also well-received and earned multiple accolades, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
