Kira's troubled past involves being sexually abused by her best friend's father, who happened to be one of the most prominent men in their small town. When Kira confided in her father about the abuse, he went to the authorities to report it but was met with threats and bribes from the abuser's family.

In fear of losing everything, Kira's family accepted a large sum of money in exchange for their silence, effectively burying Kira's trauma along with their conscience. Kira was sent away to live with relatives, and her family carried on with their lives, pretending that the past never happened.

However, Kira never forgot what happened to her and the betrayal she felt from her family's actions. Her return home for her father's funeral becomes an opportunity for her to finally confront her family and the abuser's family. As she digs deeper into the past, she realizes that the price for their silence held deeper consequences than she ever imagined.

The film tackles themes of trauma, family dynamics, and the long-lasting effects of keeping secrets. It stars Lynn Mancinelli, Richard Thomas, Emrhys Cooper, and Kristin Carey.
