The Power of One is a 1992 drama film adaptation of the novel by Bryce Courtenay. The film is set in South Africa during the 1930s and 1940s, during the time of apartheid. PK, the protagonist, is an English boy who is sent to a boarding school in Africa after the death of his mother. PK is the only white student in the school and he is subjected to constant bullying and abuse from the other students.

PK's only friend is Geel Piet, played by Morgan Freeman, who is serving a prison sentence for a crime he did not commit. Geel Piet teaches PK how to box and becomes a father figure to him. He also teaches PK about the importance of tolerance and standing up for what is right.

As PK grows older, he becomes more aware of the injustices and oppression around him. He witnesses the brutal treatment of black Africans by the white minority government and decides to take a stand. PK becomes involved in the anti-apartheid movement and uses his boxing skills to fight for justice and equality.
