The Poison Rose follows the story of Carson Phillips, a private investigator who is struggling to make ends meet. He receives a surprise visit from his former lover, Jayne Hunt, a Hollywood starlet who hires him to investigate a murder in her hometown, Galveston, Texas.
As Carson delves deep into the case, he discovers some shocking truths about the victim's past and the people involved in the murder. From corrupt politicians to shady businessmen, every suspect has a motive and an alibi.
As the bodies start piling up, Carson realizes that the case is much bigger than he thought, and his own life is in danger. With the help of his assistant, a young streetwise girl named Tina, and his best friend, a local bar owner, Carson unravels the mystery and uncovers the mastermind behind the killings.
