The Player is a 1992 satirical film directed by Robert Altman and starring Tim Robbins as Griffin Mill, a successful Hollywood studio executive who receives threatening postcards from a writer whose script he recently rejected. As he tries to figure out which writer is sending the threats, Mill begins a series of morally questionable actions, including an affair with his boss's girlfriend, the murder of the wrong writer, and the eventual exposure of his crimes to the police.
